Love these lights lasted 2.5 years

I have to preface this review with the fact that I didn't have really high hopes for these lights when I bought them. I was hoping for something that would hopefully last though the summer and I figured that this might just be a yearly expense that I would absorb as a new homeowner. I have been nicely surprised by the durability of these lights and by how long they stay lit once they go on at night. I attached these lights to my fence using the 3M tape strips a year ago, and only if I've taken them off my fence myself or repositioned them, they remained in place the entire time. They have weathered the elements, rain, snow, and heat and they're still in place and working as well as the day I put them up. I have them mostly along my fence, but I've also placed them on my deck and they look good and have held up everywhere I've used them. At the end of the summer, I bought another box of these lights, fully expecting to need to put up some new ones in the spring, and so far, I haven't needed to replace any of the previous ones, so I'm thinking of either gifting these to someone else, or finding some other creative uses for them. If you're sitting on fence deciding whether to buy these or not, I wouldn't hesitate. They work great, look fantastic and a year later, I'm still happy with them!

Seems to work well for the money - nothing special about the craftsmanship or build quality to admire but it gets the job done. If it gets a couple hours of sunlight during the day it can last pretty much throughout the night and it's a good brightness level for an accent light or for illuminating a stairwell. Like others have mentioned it is better to put these on the sides of the stairwell rather than on the steps themselves. This actually lights up the steps better and also the units are not really sturdy enough to be stepped on. I do wish that the unit screwed in from the side rather than from the top, this would've made it much easier with my placement at least. The included screws are kind of cheap and don't seem to engage well with any of the bits I have - I bet the heads will be stripped if I ever have to remove them as the metal used is quite soft. It appears that a single IC labeled YX8051 pretty much handles everything as far as handling the charging and light control. The manual makes mention of being able to replace the battery with a similar one. The unit can be easily opened up by removing two screws and it looks like you could simply swap in a new 1.2V NiMh battery. The stock battery appears to be pretty cheap/basic and is labeled with a 200mAh capacity. In the future if it dies I'll probably test out replacing this with a higher capacity AAA from Tenergy or Eneloop. It's probably overkill for the application but it shouldn't hurt and could potentially give you a bit more of a buffer to power through the cloudy days. I am skeptical of how well these cheap batteries will hold up in extreme temperatures especially the subzero winters here so we shall see. Also it would be great if they sold quantities other than a 16 pack - with only one quantity offered you're bound to end up with extras laying around.

The media could not be loaded. These were the greatest simple little invention created for your deck! They are super easy to install with the tape. One set illuminations my rails around my deck and the stairs leading down to the yard. I highly recommend! I did not use screws or the included tape (I actually wasn’t aware that it came with mounting tape). I used Scott’s outdoor mounting tape. UPDATE 4/29: several lights stopped working all together or just blink😞 so disappointed now UPDATE 5/2022: I just needed to screw then in and down! They work perfectly more than a year later!

We looked at several fence lighting options and settled with these finally. Not so expensive, very easy to install, we installed these on the outside of our fence using the double sided tape that came with these. Very happy with the purchase

Order came on stated day, packed well. These are perfect for deck and stairs. So easy to install. Pull battery tab out. Comes with 2 ways to set up, double sided sticky pads or screws. I chose the sticky pads as my deck floor is trex. The pads fit perfectly in a small resessed part on bottom of light. I placed them on ends of deck flooring below the rails. Plus on each side of steps. They were installed towards evening with cloudy skies, but had enough charge to glow past 11pm! The soft glow is perfect lighting. 16(!) Come in a box. I ordered another box as my deck is rather large and to keep consistent spacing I needed more. The price is well worth it as they are sturdy and attractive. One might think they are small, but they are mighty. I would recommend these to anyone who wants a soft glow around a deck/stairs. I'm in love with them!!!

Made a beautiful accent light on my deck and fence. Definitely will order more.

I installed these on my Mom's deck. They work well, in general. However, one didn't work at all out of the box of 16, from the beginning - and three additional lights only work sporadically. I mean, they seem to work but if any light hits them once it's dark they turn off and don't come back on when they light source is removed (my Mom has one of those doorbell lights that comes on if there is motion). The other lights turn back on when this happens - but the three don't turn back on until the next night. Kind of annoying.

I LOVE these lights!! They are colorful and the lights change colors very slowly and softly for a super fun vibe! I installed them along the top of our wooden fence, and it was easy and only took a few minutes, plus all the hardware was included. They beautifully light up the path on the side of my house to help guests find their way. I would highly recommend purchasing these—there are a generous 16 count of them. They are vivid and colorful. You won’t be sorry!
